When it comes to retaining ice and keeping a chill on food, refreshments or fish, there’s no doubt that the new 65-quart Yeti Tundra wins the “cold war.” Ordinary coolers can’t match the Yeti Tundra’s one-piece polyethylene roto-molded construction with a full two inches of polyurethane foam in the sides, bottom and lid — designed to keep important items ice-cold day after day. This means boaters can stay on the water longer, catch more fish and keep the fun going, even during the hottest months of summer.
Adding to Yeti Coolers’ superior cold retention is a home freezer-style lid gasket that creates an airtight seal to keep the cold air in while keeping moisture and warm air out. Integrated, heavy-duty rubber T-latches and a self-stopping, full-length integrated hinge ensure a positive lid seal that stays secure in the roughest conditions at sea or on land. How many coolers have you owned? How long did they last? Can you count the broken hinges, latches and handles? How about the cracked corners and caved-in lids? Even the most expensive versions of these disposable coolers can’t take the punishment dished out by the average outdoorsman, let alone the pros. That’s why we make YETI premium coolers.
Rotational-molded construction (just like a whitewater kayak) makes a YETI®cooler virtually indestructible.
Ordinary coolers are injection and/or blow-molded. These processes are relatively inexpensive, high-volume manufacturing methods commonly used for everyday products like soda bottles. YETI coolers, on the other hand, are one-piece, rotational-molded (roto-molded), made of the same indestructible material as whitewater kayaks. This process is slower and more costly, but the result is a cooler with uniform wall thickness, thicker and stronger corners, and a dramatic durability advantage. Products that require long-term impact durability, like kayaks (which must withstand constant collisions with sharp rocks as they are propelled by raging water) are roto-molded. Once you handle a YETI you’ll notice the big difference.
YETI’s full-length, roto-molded hinge system will not fail.
The first thing to go on most coolers is the lid hinge. Whether it’s a door-style hinge or a molded plastic hinge, without much use at all, it is prone to fail. The lid hinge on a YETI is molded right into the cooler. A full-length aluminum rod connects and holds the body and lid together. And, hinge-stops are molded into the lid, so the hinge can’t hyper-extend and break.
YETI® lid latches are the same latches used on ATVs.
If you have an ATV, you’ll recognize the heavy-duty, rubber T-latches on a YETI cooler. They’re built to withstand the pounding an ATV dishes out and they’ll last for years on your YETI cooler.And so will the latch keepers. They’re molded directly into the body.

Inside, adjacent to the drain plug, the cooler bottom contour is recessed, so you can drain every last drop of water.
